Throughout my life, art has always played an important part. My college degree was in speech pathology and special education. After several years in those fields, our family moved to Minneapolis where I pursued art in the form of interior design at University of Minnesota.

In 1977, our family of five moved to Oregon where I was able to balance family life with both a career in interior design as well as further education in art at Marylhurst University.

In 1996, I bought my first sewing machine, thinking that I could do something art related but using skills my mother was proficient in. It was then that I began quilting, which I loved!

In 2000, I was asked to join Cover to Cover Book Club Quilters. It was a new and challenging experience. To read a book and then do my own quilt design, based on the book, led me to new classes and techniques. I was once again back to art, this time painting on fabric!

Traveling with my husband of fifty years provides inspiration and ideas for my quilts.
